“All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our flesh and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature deserving of wrath. But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved.”

‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭2:3-5‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Are you waiting until you’ve got your act together, until you have your life cleaned up, until you feel worthy to come to God? STOP! On your own you can’t make yourself good enough. God loves anyway, so much he became a man to die for you. He paid the penalty for that life you are trying to clean up. It is done. It is finished. Humbly accept this merciful gift and you can walk in a whole new life—true life in Christ.

I have come that you might have life and have it to the full. John 10:10🚦

“The Israelites did all this just as the Lord commanded Moses.”

Numbers 1:54 NIV

God gave very specific instructions to Moses for taking the census and for establishing the camp of the Israelites by divisions, with the Levite’s tents immediately surrounding the tabernacle. When the camp moved, the ark of the covenant traveled in front of the people so they could always see God leading them.

Are you and I so meticulous in your obedience to God? What would our lives look like if we dedicated ourselves to following our Lord? How would the world be different if we set ourselves apart, as God asks us, to be fully devoted to Him?🚦

“You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭16:11‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

How often do you find yourself at a crossroads in life, wondering which direction to turn next? If you are already walking with Christ on a day by day basis it will come naturally to seek Him for guidance. However, if you are not accustomed to listening to Him through His Word, you may feel as if your cries for help are hitting the ceiling. Hang in there! As you learn to trust God in the little things on a moment-by-moment basis, you will find joy in resting beside Him and will begin to recognize His direction and answers for the big things. You will surely find pleasure in simply being with Him.🚦

“They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.””

‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭17:8‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Have you ever seen a tree toppled over, roots and all, by a strong storm, stunned to see such a shallow root system? Unless a tree’s roots grow deep into the soil, it will not be able to withstand heavy gusts. You and I are much like trees. When life’s hurricanes hit, if we are not deeply rooted in the soil of God’s Word we will topple spiritually, and often emotionally. Our roots grow deep as we spend time day in and day out in the practices of study, prayer, meditation, worship and fellowship.

Are your roots deep enough for you to thrive through the next big life-storm?🚦

“Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” Jesus. John 15:13 – KJV

As we remember our friends and loved ones who sacrificed all for each of us, let us think, also, of the sacrifice made by Christ so that you and I could know freedom from the sin which so easily entangles us. 🚦

“And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”

‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭10:24-25‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Fellowship with other believers is both an incredible encouragement and critical to our growth in remaining steadfast in our walk with the Lord. The world around us pulls us toward its concerns and away from God. Draw near to Him in worship and thanksgiving together with Christ followers. 🚦

A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.

-Proverbs 15:1

Who hasn’t done it? Sharp words thrown out in anger at the child who has gotten on our last nerve or the sarcastic retort lashed out in frustration at that certain someone who just won’t listen. God never does this to us no matter how many times He has to say the same thing over and over and over again, patiently rephrasing His instructions to help us hear with our hearts and minds to change our behavior.

Let us speak softly today.🚦

“So then, we must pursue what promotes peace and what builds up one another.”

‭‭Romans‬ ‭14:19‬ ‭HCSB‬‬

It is easy to find the differences between ourselves and other believers, isn’t it? When we focus instead on our agreement in the resurrecting power of Jesus Christ we are made stronger and encouraged toward repentance, love and peace. May we stand united with this hope.

“God’s kindness is intended to lead you to repentance” Romans 1:4b 🚦

“I am at rest in God alone; my salvation comes from Him. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my stronghold; I will never be shaken.”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭62:1-2‬ ‭HCSB‬‬

It’s easy to fall into the rhythm of finding our identity, self-worth, and strength from our jobs, roles, possessions, physical appearance and athleticism. All these distinctions can be changed in the blink of an eye. God gives us a “status” that can never be taken away: Loved by Him. Find your rest and strength

in the One who never changes. Press into Him. 🚦

“He restores my soul; He guides me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭23:3-4‬ ‭NASB‬‬

The path of righteousness will take us through some dark seasons, but God will always be there with us. When we abide in Him, walking in Spirit, we stay under His protection. He gives us His peace in the midst of turmoil as assurance of His presence. It is fitting that we bring glory and honor to Him in thanksgiving for all He has done for us. May that very peace guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus.🚦
