“But Moses asked God, “Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and that I should bring the Israelites out of Egypt? ” He answered, “I will certainly be with you, and this will be the sign to you that I have sent you: when you bring the people out of Egypt, you will all worship God at this mountain.””

‭‭Exodus‬ ‭3:11-12‬ ‭HCSB‬‬

Moses had spent the last 40 years living quietly, shepherding his father-in-law’s flock when God called him to lead the Israelites out of the 400 year captivity in Egypt. Like any of us would have done, Moses asked God, “Why me? Who am I that You would ask me to do this?” But God answered the question at the heart by telling Moses, “I will be with you.”

God doesn’t necessarily choose the person who might have won the “Most Likely to Go Into Ministry” award. He involves US instead- a motley crew of misfits who know how badly we need the Savior, and then He guarantees He is right there with us in the mix of it.

Who am I? Who are you? We are loved by the God of the universe who desires to live in community with us and to use us to accomplish his mission. That’s who you are. 🚦
