In Hebrew the heart and soul overlap in meaning to convey the internal life, disposition and intellect of love. Rather than this verse being an instruction or admonition, God wants us to cultivate an inclination or frame of mind of love, both for Hod and for others. How does one cultivate a disposition of love? Time spent meditating on God’s word, worship, and prayer, a habit being grateful, and telling others your story of God’s faithfulness to you.
