“As a deer longs for streams of water, so I long for You, God. I thirst for God, the living God. When can I come and appear before God? My tears have been my food day and night, while all day long people say to me, “Where is your God? ”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭42:1-3 HCSB‬‬

Some days tears ARE all the food a body can stomach. The heart longs to end the suffering and turmoil and go be with God 24/7. You understand this too well, don’t you?

David certainly did. Paul also lived with these mixed emotions and spoke of it in a way that encourages us to keep leaning into God as we press on:

“For me, living is Christ and dying is gain. Now if I live on in the flesh, this means fruitful work for me; and I don’t know which one I should choose. I am pressured by both. I have the desire to depart and be with Christ — which is far better — but to remain in the flesh is more necessary for you.”

‭‭Philippians‬ ‭1:21-24‬ ‭HCSB‬‬

So, just for today, no matter what each moment brings, let us move forward in the confidence “that He who started a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” Philippians‬ ‭1:6‬ ‭HCSB‬‬🚦
