“Tremble and do not sin; when you are on your beds, search your hearts and be silent. Offer the sacrifices of the righteous and trust in the Lord. Many, Lord, are asking, “Who will bring us prosperity?” Let the light of your face shine on us. Fill my heart with joy when their grain and new wine abound. In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, Lord, make me dwell in safety.”
Psalms 4:4-8 NIV
It gets so dark at times in these spaces where it seems God isn’t speaking. You have lost so much—job, health, relationships, finances. What’s left? It seems there is no light at the end of this pitch-black, God-forsaken tunnel.
But that tiny mustard seed of faith planted inside you tells you this is not true. Faith tells you God is still there and beckons you to continue to cry out to Him in obedience through the darkness. As long as you are pressing into Him you are in the sweet spot of safety, the place from which joy springs. It is then you will see His light as you draw closer and closer to the Source of light. He was always there. 🚦
