“Finally, my brethren, rejoice in the Lord. To write the same things again is no trouble to me, and it is a safeguard for you.”
Philippians 3:1 NASB
Paul writes to the Phillipians from prison in Rome, so why is he telling them to rejoice? It’s not just rejoice, but rejoice IN THE LORD. Rejoicing in His attributes of goodness, sovereignty, power, majesty, and love for us in the midst of our battles will safeguard our hearts from the enemy. Rejoicing also drives away temptations that pull us every which way. Rejoicing in Him keeps our hearts and minds trained on the cross and in gratefulness for our salvation, putting everything in perspective. Rejoice! 🚦
