“Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.”
James 5:16 NLT
Several years ago my husband and I were hiking in the Davis Mountains in West Texas when I stepped down from the peak of this hill onto a loose rock that shifted. My already unstable ankle snapped and twisted hard, and I fell face forward onto the rocky ground. I had several scrapes, and the pain was intense in my ankle, but I was otherwise OK. I maneuvered myself into a sitting position while onlookers called the park ranger for help. As I looked out onto the beautiful valley, my heart swelled with expectation as I lifted my request, knowing my big God was going to show Himself in a big, big way. Some time later a group of high school students came along, headed up by two certified wilderness paramedics who had just finished training these young men in wilderness first aid! In no time I had water, Advil, a professionally taped ankle and was traveling back down the mountain, courtesy of the students who carried me on the park ranger’s portable stretcher.
What is your need? Take it before the throne of God passionately and expectantly; ask your friends to do the same. And wait for God to show off!🚦
