“All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our flesh and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature deserving of wrath. But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved.”

‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭2:3-5‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Are you waiting until you’ve got your act together, until you have your life cleaned up, until you feel worthy to come to God? STOP! On your own you can’t make yourself good enough. God loves you anyway, so much he became a man to die for you. He paid the penalty for that life you are trying to clean up. It is done. It is finished. Humbly accept this merciful gift and you can walk in a whole new life—true life in Christ.

I have come that you might have life and have it to the full. John 10:10🚦

“But the Lord said to Moses and Aaron, because you did not trust me to show my Holiness in the sight of the Israelites you will not bring this assembly into the land I have given them.”

Numbers 20:12

As I dive into study of the book of Deuteronomy, Moses refers back to God’s anger toward Moses when Moses disobeyed God as he took his rod and struck the rock at the Wilderness of Zin instead of speaking to the rock, as God had instructed. For many years I thought this severe treatment unfair. I, myself, didn’t understand the seriousness of Moses’ disobedience to God, his lack of trust in God and his acting out in anger. The penalty was in direct proportion to what God expected of Moses. Moses lived a very privileged life, and God requires more of those with whom He has entrusted great power.

“When someone has been given much, much will be required in return; and when someone has been entrusted with much, even more will be required.”

Luke‬ ‭12:48

Each of us has been given a certain amount of privilege and power, whether or not we recognize it as such. What has God entrusted to you? Are you obedient in how you serve?🚦

“…even though I was formerly a blasphemer and a persecutor and a violent aggressor. Yet I was shown mercy because I acted ignorantly in unbelief; and the grace of our Lord was more than abundant, with the faith and love which are found in Christ Jesus.”

‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭1:13-14‬ ‭NASB‬‬

The apostle Paul had been a violent persecutor of Christians before he personally met Christ. No matter how bad you think you are, the love of God is big enough, wide enough, deep enough, and high enough. God has poured out more than enough grace to keep you covered. God has poured out more than enough faith for you to trust him! God has poured out more than enough love to never let you go! 🚦

“But you, God, see the trouble of the afflicted; you consider their grief and take it in hand. The victims commit themselves to you; you are the helper of the fatherless.

The Lord is King for ever and ever.”

‭‭Psalm‬ ‭10:14, 16a‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Satan is relentless in his pursuit of God’s people, continually scheming to crush and tear down. However distant He might seem when we are not walking in Spirit, our Heavenly Father hears the cries of the weak in their grief and pain. The enemy’s deeds do not go unnoticed, and he will have to account to God himself. Even in the swirl of craziness around us the Lord Our God is in control and will not have His own plans thwarted. Take comfort in this today.🚦

“Listen, my son, accept what I say, and the years of your life will be many. I instruct you in the way of wisdom and lead you along straight paths. When you walk, your steps will not be hampered; when you run, you will not stumble.”

‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭4:10-12‬ ‭NIV‬‬

The way of wisdom leads us on a path that does not always LOOK straight with our limited vision, since we “see through a glass darkly”(1 Corinthians 13-12). However, as we walk in obedience through the ups and downs, over rocks and through the rivers, He will never lead us astray. He will guide our steps with His Word as a footlight to see just far enough to keep us from stumbling. Those twists and turns? That’s not Him causing you to swerve to the right and left, but being out of alignment with His plan by not walking in His Spirit will take you on detours. Slow down so you can listen and walk with Him and not lose footing.🚦

“The Lord sat enthroned at the flood; the Lord sits enthroned, King forever.”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭29:10‬ ‭HCSB‬‬

Yes, when the whole earth was being flooded with only Noah and his family saved, God was on His throne. During the floods of your life, God is still God. He is always in control, and He is always good. What does His goodness look like in the midst of your storm?🚦

“Lord, Your testimonies are completely reliable; holiness is the beauty of Your house for all the days to come.”

Psalm 93:5 HCSB

True Beauty is not bought and sold like a commodity on Wall Street. It is more like a Money Market Account or an IRA in which you faithfully deposit trust and obedience, yielding a strong return of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness and self-control (Ephesians 2:8-9) for your investment. By the time you reach mid-life and beyond, when the outward appearance may begin to fade, others will be drawn to the beauty of your spirit-filled character.

Pretty is a think of youth, and, much like happiness, is fleeting. But True Beauty lies within, and, much like joy, is eternal. Cultivate your inner beauty. 🚦

“As you do not know the path of the wind, or how the body is formed in a mother’s womb, so you cannot understand the work of God, the Maker of all things.“

Ecclesiastes 11:5

Men and women years to study meteorology to try and understand about weather, yet they have no way of harnessing it. Tornadoes still drop out of the sky unexpectedly, wreaking havoc on homes and lives. Countless hours and dollars have been spent studying embryology and genetics to learn how babies are formed from the cellular level. All of this to try to understand what God spoke into being! We are kidding ourselves if we think we will totally understand the complexity that is the mind of God in this lifetime. But one day…

“For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face; now I know in part, but then I will know fully just as I also have been fully known.”

“And lo, I am with you always [remaining with you perpetually–regardless of circumstance, and on every occasion], even to the end of the age.”

‭‭Matthew 28:20‬b AMP‬‬

These last words Jesus spoke to the disciples following his resurrection and before ascending to heaven provide immeasurable comfort for those who walk with Him. Has a friend let you down or even seemingly abandoned the longtime relationship? He is there. Are life circumstances becoming so overwhelming it’s difficult to keep moving forward? He is with you. Are you missing the presence of a loved one who has passed? His arms are around you. He gets it.

“You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.”

“Finally, my brethren, rejoice in the Lord. To write the same things again is no trouble to me, and it is a safeguard for you.”

‭‭Philippians‬ ‭3:1‬ ‭NASB‬‬

Paul writes to the Phillipians from prison in Rome, so why is he telling them to rejoice? It’s not just rejoice, but rejoice IN THE LORD. Rejoicing in His attributes of goodness, sovereignty, power, majesty, and love for us in the midst of our battles will safeguard our hearts from the enemy. Rejoicing also drives away temptations that pull us every which way. Rejoicing in Him keeps our hearts and minds trained on the cross and in gratefulness for our salvation, putting everything in perspective. Rejoice! 🚦
